Monster EnergyYamaha’s partnership with Monster Energy goes all the way back to 2007, when the two joined forces with Graves Motorsports to compete in the AMA Supermoto series, winning three championships and an X Games Gold in a two-year span. After a brief hiatus, the partnership renewed in 2011 when Monster Energy became the title sponsor of the Yamaha Factory Racing Superbike team. Adding another championship in 2018, together Monster Energy and Yamaha have won seven Superbike Championship titles. In 2013 Monster Energy became involved with Yamaha’s 600 program and in the 1 st season Cameron Beaubier won the Daytona 200 and the AMA Daytona SportBike Championship. Rider Profile - Aaron Plessinger #7“2019 was not the season I had imagined for my rookie season in the 450 class. SX was going pretty well, as I learned the techniques to be competitive in the 450 class. Just after my best result of a 4th in Atlanta, I was injured in the main event at the Daytona SX. I broke my heel and it took much longer than expected to get back on the bike and resume my training. I missed a lot of races, and when I did come back for the MX championship, I had to use each round to gain my speed as well as my conditioning.
I am now all healed up and off-season testing with the new 450 has been awesome, the Team and I are excited for the start of a new season”. Due to his subsequent injury Plessinger finished 16 th in the Supercross series and 21 st in the AMA MX 450 Championship after missing the first 5 rounds. Rider Profile - Justin Barcia, #51“What a year, I won the opening round of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship at Anaheim. Then got banged up and missed a few rounds, then had a broken finger and missed the last (3) rounds. The MX championship was a challenge as my finger was not 100% and I struggled most of the season, finally earning a podium at Unadilla. After a little time off, we started testing the new 450 and the stock bike is just phenomenal.
I went to France for the Bercy SX and came back the King of Bercy! With the team’s direction in pre-season testing and the new 450, I am feeling considerably more comfortable and excited for A1”.
